Checking a Railway Sign by Train Machinist

A Machinist or Train Driver in JR (Japan Railway)Train will hang up his hand and pointing to every railway sign in order to ensure that he has pass the true sign. While he has to check the traveling table paper in front of him.

Most of Nihonjin (Japanese) have high discipline in theirs working job. We ever hear somebody to get harakiri (put of death) if he was done dishonor mistake. This could be that usually call Samurai (patriotic) mentality. Sometimes they would forgotten theirs physicaly hurt in order to avoid dishonor and hurt feelings.
